Bah, their website is poor. I keep getting timeouts - I only just about got some work. Luckily, the 32-bit BOINC client runs flawlessly over ia32 that I installed.
Yes, sometimes the server seems a bit overwhelmed. If it's the only project you run best not make the cache too small.
Our daily output is now about 7000. Which would put us in pole position in less than 2 weeks. Could be faster if this project wasn't such a pain in the a** when it comes to contacting the server.
The output on my machines will be going up and down since I'm helping to test the Linux client for Riesel Sieve - may drop completely if it works without problems and goes live.
IMHO the joined effort of boinc.be is pulling the RCN server to its knees.
The combination of short WU's, beta-projects and BAT-attacks has already done that trick on other projects.
Nevertheless, this will soon be over in less than 2 weeks.
My Lhc caches run dry today, so my machines can join in for 100%![]()
Their putting an effort to it, to resist our BAT-loadNovember 6, 2006
The database is very slow. Due to reconfigurations we will have short downtimes today and in the next few days. The good message is: We will get a new server next week: Dual XEON, 4 GB, 5 SCSI disks :-) and our service will be much better in the future![]()
At least we will be able to go at it full force then![]()
With all the partying going on, let's not forget we still have a BAT attack running. We have just passed AnandTech and are now in second place. 50000 behind BS. In a few days work should run smoother:
