Hi, found this thread about it:
1. as user root go to path /usr/lib/ and type:
ln -s libssl.so.$$ libssl.so.5 ($$ = highest version of the lib, e.g. 0.9.
ln -s libcrypto.so.$$ libcrypto.so.5 ($$ is the highest version of the lib)
2. with the current version (1.0the map_anal.... application needs libstdc++.so.6
This is a library from gcc(++) version 4 (!!) and only the newest distries are using gcc4.
Older distries (older than one year) don't have gcc4. So we have 3 possibilities:
1. you can find a gcc4 for your LINUX-distribution, and you can install this without "interferences" ?! (as a newbee don't do this)
2. e.g. you will find a KDE3.4 or higher for your distribution and you can install this (another way, but also not simple...)
3. make an update to a current version of your distribution with support for gcc4, or KDE3.4 or 3.5 (i have done this)
I guess Linux doesn't like anal wu's neighter hum![]()
Yes, that's annoying me too. They'd better say there's no Linux support for the moment.
I often doubt where to put a message, public or private. If we put everything in the private section, the public part seems so dead. If we post announcements in public, then people looking for a team get the impression that we are up-to-date with the news. What I do now is put announcements for new projects in the private section. Open for suggestions though...

Got a ton of WUs, but no way is my FX-55 going to finish them if BOINC gets the time incorrect again. 15 minutes to finish one? Yeah, right, it's 1 hour 45 minutes in and only completed 10% of the first one.
I posted a question about the 'strange' Wu name on 23/09 in several threads.. In the 'number crunching' thread the Forum moderator/Project developer/Project scientist finally answered (seemingly a bit irritated) http://neuron.mine.nu/neuron/forum_thread.php?id=57 Let's keep in mind the entire project is actually made to learn about how to make projects better ... this openness to criticism shurely will help a lot![]()
ah well scientists, they probably had a lot of reactions and it has made them a little crancky since everyone is making fun of them.
I agree that they should have known better![]()
I think it's the best idea if Linux users stay away from this project. The Linux client is extremely slow (up to 800% slower), and I don't think they have the time to fix it.
