It's still in beta test as far as I know. In periods of BAT actions I usually don't run Boinc beta clients. They can make you lose lots of work.
The new Boinc client once it is released should have a completely rewritten scheduler. Better at making sure deadlines are met, and less often in "panic mode"
Can they give us Linux users a newer version than 5.4.9 first?!![]()
Probably the Linux lower version is already better than the Windows client![]()
That'll never make it into Linux then. They'll say they can't get the GUI correct when the newer versions of GTK are available - why they use wxwidgets is beyond me.
I made a try too. No difference in speed till now.
Now there's also a graphical diplay for disk usage.
Everything in moderation...even moderation.
Well, after a few hours crunching, the 5.7.2 seems to be faster.
For Spinhenge : units are now crunched in 1400 sec (5600 sec before...).![]()
For Seti : one hour less.
The others vary too much.

normaly your manager has nothing to do with how fast a wu for a certain project is calculated since for every project there is a seperate executable provided by the project operators.
by the way if you use this client, the bench should be the same as any other standard boinc client, since they use dhry- and whetstone applications for performance measurement, the only thing they can change then is the adjustment for dual core types eg.
