Someone give the guy a code eh? Guy - I don't mind you passing it out to members of boinc.be, as I assume they aren't the kind of people who are going to flood the message board with things like "why can I only get 5WUs per day? Is this an error?"
Agreed on the cross project stats sites. Let's wait until we have a stable URL. I don't want to give the administrators of those sites headaches. Stats should start being exported in the next day or so though. I added the XML you suggested to a config file, so we'll see...
About memory, the main chunk of memory was to hold the output in v0.2. The new version doesn't send output in the same way, so I eliminated that chunk of stack memory. The domain descriptors and turbulence fields use a only trivial amount of RAM. I'll be interested to see how much when people get their hands on it (soon).
We have a winner!
I realise it was close, but I can't get a MAPS related URL. And @mosphere is out for the same reason. We're soon to be www.apsathome.org.
Thanks for taking the time to vote...
A new version is out for testing, BOINC.BE test crew. Put your teeth in it. It has checkpoints and suspend/resume should work.
Apologies - this is the only thread I can find on the BOINC.be forum about APS@Home. So I'll ask the question here...
I assume from the lack of error reports that you're all happy with the way the project is going now? I ask because the first thing I wanted to get right was the application. If we've got that right, then I can now concentrate on the server side I assume?
BOINC.be were the first wave of testers, so I'd appreciate your opinions on this. If there are no objections, then I'll consider the application finished.
Alas, I had to make serious changes to the way the client reports, so there *is* some server work to be done. So is everyone here happy for me to call the application "finished"? No last minute error messages / objections?
Fingers crossed... ;-)
I've been crunching APS for some weeks now and don't have any real issues with the application (Linux 64-bit).
My only "issue" is that my credits are not counted anywhere for now.
